Georgia Aquarium & The International SeaKeepers Society

2nd Annual Teacher Workshop in Miami, FL
June 22nd – 25th, 2023

The International SeaKeepers Society and Georgia Aquarium invite middle and high school educators in Georgia to apply for a two-day, three-night professional development opportunity in Miami, Florida. Through hands-on field experiences and research, teachers will use Biscayne Bay as a case study to explore anthropogenic impacts on different ecosystems found along coastal communities. Teachers will receive a Certificate of Completion for this professional development activity.

Rivers to Reef

Presented by Georgia Aquarium Education Department.

This workshop gives teachers hands on experience to create better stewards and advocates for the waterways in their communities as well as pass on their passion from the experience directly to their students.

The workshop will be from July 10th-July 14th starting in Atlanta, traveling down to Savannah for Thursday and Friday. Participants will return to Atlanta on Friday evening. All attendees are required to attend a virtual session on Thursday, May 9th at 7pm and an in-person session hosted at Georgia Aquarium on Saturday June 17th from 9:30am-12:30pm. Travel, Room and Board, Meals and onsite transportation are included.
Applications are due by March 31st. Selected participants will be notified April 21st.
